Jacobs’ Jebel

Each year the capstone of vacation is to spend the last evening at Jacobs’ Jebel – the house my parents built in the early 80’s and the closest thing I’ve ever thought of as home in the USA as a child. This year the weather was great and I took Kai and Nora on a 4 wheeler drive around the local fields and forests. We capped it off with a great meal that Grandma Ellen put together and then the next day were off to the airport. So long summer…

Bass Lake Dawn

On our last full day Nora agreed to get up early with me for a sunrise kayak around the lake. A dawn storm rolled through just before we left so we had a calm lake but a great view of the towering thunderheads between us and the rising sun. Enjoy the pictures!

Random Bass Lake Pictures

I’m still clearing out photos from the camera – here are some shots of Kai and Nora practicing their Nestea plunges as well as some pictures of a rainbow after a storm passed through. Enjoy!

Nora’s Boat

Here is a gallery of photos I took one evening when Nora and I went out to run her remote control boat. After we ran the battery down there was still enough daylight left to look for some frogs by the dock.

Sunset Pictures

Bass Lake seems very, very far away now. Here are some sunset pictures on Bass Lake taken from the boat.

More Vacation Pictures

If vacation officially ends when you get on the plane to go home then we have only about 60 minutes left. If it ends when you land at the other end then we still have a full 24 hours left. Enjoy these random vacation pictures. Though vacation is ending there are still hundreds of photos to sort through so expect a few more posts in the days to come.

Arlington Visit

Pictures from a great visit we had to the Post family farm which also included a visit to the Sibley County Fair.

Evening Boating

Here are a few pictures of an evening boat ride and other shots from the last weekend with the Posts and Grandma and Grandpa Jacobs visited. Enjoy!
