2023 Abha Weekend

In mid-June, we took a weekend trip to visit the city of Abha in the Asir region of Saudi Arabia.  In the southwest corner,  the Asir mountains are not nearly as hot and can get rain from the humid air coming in off the Red Sea even in summer.    It was a wonderful trip, enjoy the pictures!

More 2023 Random Photos

Here are a few more random photos across the spring of 2023.  Enjoy!

Seychelles 2023

During the May Eid holiday, Ben and Crystal flew to the Seychelles islands off of Madagascar for a lovely holiday.   We had meant to travel here for some time but COVID kept getting in the way.   A beautiful tropical island trip!

Some 2023 Random Photos

In early 2023 we had a new pet join us – Juniper the cat.   Kai and Noah were home for December break and Kai was with us through all of January as he was taking a class online for his winter term.

Summer 2021 (gallery 3)

The last gallery of summer in Wisconsin.  It was a good one.  Summers don’t last long enough or come often enough for my taste.

Random Spring Pictures

It was a slow spring in Saudi Arabia.  With COVID happening and vaccines just starting to become available we were just keeping our heads down and getting through the weeks.  Still there were a few interesting pictures to come out of it including when Nora and Crystal were both inducted into the Order of the Arrow in Scouts.

Leadership Retreat

I’ve not posted any pictures on the family website for quite some time now – I haven’t been taking as many pictures either – probably getting stuck in a COVID rut.    Still, my camera hasn’t been entirely unused in 2021 so it is time to start working back through a backlog dating back to the start of 2021.   Enjoy the pictures.

Pre-Vacation Gallery

Our long awaited 2020 vacation was long-overdue, short, and is now over.  That means plenty of pictures to go through on the camera.  This first gallery is from the few days just before we left.

December 2019 Gallery

Here is another gallery of the last bit of Thanksgiving vacation with Kai and the start of December.  Enjoy!

Thanksgiving in the Desert

With Kai off at school most of the year it was a real treat to have the family back together for this week culminating in Thanksgiving. Since Thursday is a work day here in Saudi Arabia we celebrated with a Turkey meal on Friday as we typically do. It was extra special to have both Kai and Nora up early on Friday morning so we could have the feast ready for mid-day. Not every middle and high schooler will willingly get up early to help Dad cook. The day was made complete by attending Crystal performance in the Holiday performance of the Dhahran Chorale group.
