Summer Vacation Begins

Summer vacation begins!

Mr. Slug

A few weeks back Crystal found a slug in our front yard and he joined us as a pet for a couple of weeks.  The kids enjoyed making observations and we learned a lot more about mucus than we did before.    A couple bonus pictures are here as well including Nora holding up her “How To” book that she wrote titled How to be a Zombie.

Summer Science

It is the summer of science!   Nora spent a good chunk of her allowance this year on science kits.  So far we’ve done kitchen science, clean water science and we’ve been keeping a weather log since we arrived.   Pretty cool stuff!

Summer 2013 – The first few days

Here are a few pictures from the start of summer 2013.  It has been an eventful few days with the delivery of our boat, the roof close to completion on the addition, attending Jerry Hanacek’s service and having a family get-together with Grandma Ellen, Grandpa Art, Uncle Jim and Ron and Sal Miller.

KG Science Fair and Vacation Countdown

The kindergarten science fair was recently held.  Here are some pictures from it along with a commissary run to pick up some food to donate for custodian appreciation week.

A Few Random Pictures

Science, sculpture, Japanese soybeans and bedtime drama.   Yes, a random post of family photos.  Enjoy!

It’s Science Time!

Last Wednesday was the Kindergarten Science fair at Kai’s school.  I like the way it was set up–a selection of experiment stations that contained explorations the children had completed.  They got to lead their parents through demonstrations of the types of explorations and observations they had been making in science.  There was no competition, no tri-fold boards and no stunning displays of how gifted the parents were at completing science projects for their children!
