Moving on from Vik we visited the largest icecap, a glacial lagoon, and took a “super jeep” ride up onto a glacier.

Basalt columns on a rock face high on the glacier. These are formed when lava cools very slowly giving it time to crystalize. Normally quite rare but, in Iceland, they were everywhere.
