With Kai off at school most of the year it was a real treat to have the family back together for this week culminating in Thanksgiving. Since Thursday is a work day here in Saudi Arabia we celebrated with a Turkey meal on Friday as we typically do. It was extra special to have both Kai and Nora up early on Friday morning so we could have the feast ready for mid-day. Not every middle and high schooler will willingly get up early to help Dad cook. The day was made complete by attending Crystal performance in the Holiday performance of the Dhahran Chorale group.
Kai works on making his pumpkin pie. It was his first one and it turned out well.
Nora tried making whipped cream in the mixer twice and ended up with butter. Here she is consulting Google for advice.
In the end she ended up whisking the whipped cream by hand.

Once again I am clearing out a backlog of photos off the phone and camera. This gallery goes back to the end of summer before Kai left for school and all the way through the visit to London over the Saudi National day long weekend. Enjoy!

There are two kinds of people who photograph outdoor scenes. Those who have their “lightning shot” and those that are still hoping to capture one. I got mine this summer while standing on the end of our dock on Bass lake watching a thunderstorm pass a few miles to the north. Enjoy!
A beautiful shot of lightning over bass lake this last summer.
