Christmas in Bahrain

It was a very merry Christmas this year!   We spent three days at Julie and Eric’s over in Bahrain along with Grandma Ellen and Grandpa Art (and Lucy and Willa).  Christmas eve we had the traditional fondue and Christmas day after opening presents we had a feast with both kinds of roast beast (ham and turkey).

A Visit to Bahrain

It has been a long time since I posted – over a month which may be close to a record.   There has been a lot of excitement building in the Jacobs household as Kai starts kindergarten on Saturday (8/28).   We are all anticipating the event and I will try to get some pictures posted of the first day of school (without waiting a month between posts inshallah).

In other news, yesterday we got back from a visit to Bahrain to see Aunt Julie and Uncle Eric.  It was Ramadan which meant many things were closed but, more importantly, less traffic during the day which makes things more pleasant all around.   A nice dinner on Wednesday and a little shopping on Thursday (unlike Saudi Arabia, some stores open during the day in Ramadan) made for a nice little trip.  Pictures follow…

Visiting Uncle Eric

Aunt Julie and Uncle Eric are moving to Bahrain!   Uncle Eric has already arrived and we drove over on Friday to spend the morning with him.  We had a nice breakfast as Ric’s Country Kitchen across from the Grand Mosque (which hosts the worlds largest fiberglass dome by the way) and then went on to a supermarket with good asian produce for some Thai food fixin’s.
