Summer 2021 (gallery 1)

Still playing catchup with pictures in my queue to process.  Here is the first of three galleries from Summer 2021.  Enjoy!

Another Wisconsin Photo Gallery

It is time for another vacation gallery.  This one includes a few of the things we did to stay busy in our bubble in the Northwoods.

Vacation Begins

Here is the first vacation gallery with pictures from our travel and initial arrival in northern Wisconsin.  Due to COVID we mostly stayed to ourselves with Grandma Ellen and Grandpa Art being the only family we interacted with.  Thankfully Chez Jacobs is a great place to hunker down.   Some early snow helped us get in the holiday mood as well.

Wisconsin Social

One of the things we love about visiting Wisconsin is the excellent neighbors. Whether gathering at the 10th hole for trivia or having folks over it is always a treat.

Clear night (take 2)

This second round of photos was taken on a much clearer night. I also had my remote for the camera so I could take longer exposures. Focus is still a challenge and there were a lot of shots that needed to be discarded but still some winners for sure. Enjoy!

Around the cabin

Still clearing the backlog on the camera. Here are a few pictures from around the cabin this December.

Starry Night (sort of)

This winter I was all set to do some great astrophotography. It is a really hard thing to do over in Saudi due to the dust, haze, and light pollution but I remember the clear winter nights here in Wisconsin as being just about perfect. Unfortunately, the cloud cover has been almost complete the whole time we’ve been here. A few days after we arrived, the sky cleared enough to see some stars so I went out and took these pictures even though there were still a few clouds. Enjoy!

Christmas 2019

Here is a gallery from the family gathering for Christmas which included Paul, Lea Ann, Steve, Nina, Sara, Art, Ellen, Julie, Eric, Charlotte, Evelyn and Teddy. With the 4 of us as well it was a cozy house. We feel really fortunate that even with a short trip we were able to gather so many family together at the same time.

Gingerbread Houses

Gingerbread houses are another tradition. This time around we built 3 houses so the kids did some pairing up with cousins. Since we arrived back in Wisconsin so late in December there would not have been time to bake all of the pieces so Crystal made them well ahead of time in Saudi and we carried them over in our luggage. Enough of the pieces survived to make a go of the houses.

Summer Lightning

There are two kinds of people who photograph outdoor scenes. Those who have their “lightning shot” and those that are still hoping to capture one. I got mine this summer while standing on the end of our dock on Bass lake watching a thunderstorm pass a few miles to the north. Enjoy!
