Bentleyville – Festival of Lights

The Bentleyville Christmas lights event by Canal Park in Duluth is something we stop by every chance we get. An open to the public event it is a real treat and one that the kids love. This year we were able to meet up with Julie, Eric, Evelyn, Charlotte and Teddy to walk through together. With the fairly warm weather and being so close to Christmas it was plenty crowded but still more than worth it.

Bentlyville

Bentlyville is billed as the largest free, outdoor, walkthrough lights display in the USA.  That is a lot of qualifiers but Bentlyville does not disappoint and everything you need for a great visit really is free.   Free hot cocoa, free cookies, free popcorn, free marshmallows to roast – they are just handing it out.   The only thing they charged for was apparel in the gift shop but fair enough.  We had a great time!   It was good the we went in the middle of the week – crowds were still intense, I’d hate to see the place on a weekend!

A Visit to Superior-Duluth and a Huskies Game

Last week we took a trip up to Superior-Duluth. We got some shopping done, had a great visit with Ron and Sal Miller and stopped by Josh Miller’s new shop. We capped off the day with our annual Duluth Huskies game where Kai and Nora both got game balls signed by the whole team and we met some interesting people – the owner, his mother and a major supplier for SACO in Saudi Arabia.

Final Days of Summer Vacation

The final set of summer vacation pictures has been processed and I’ve posted a few here.  It was a good vacation and the kids had a great time–they are growing up too fast!
