So fall started. The kids were back in school in New Hampshire which meant it was empty nest time. Things were quieter for sure but we still managed to fill our days.
We all returned to Saudi at the end of July – Crystal and I were back at work and the kids got all of August as downtime. Here are a few pictures of the time…
Back in January Crystal and I had the good fortune to get a guided tour of a variety of mosques around the Khobar./Dammam area. The mosques ranged from the historical to the modern and all were a pleasure to visit. We could not have been welcomed more warmly.
Outside the "Pearl" mosque which is just outside the Aramco gate. Built for the workers from Pakistan that first did construction for Aramco in the 1950's
We are almost caught up – this is the penultimate catch-up gallery. Here are some more pictures of the late spring and early summer that we navigated under COVID restrictions and some brutal summer heat. We normally can get out for part of the summer but not this year.
With lockdown underway in the spring we invested in a water rower. A rowing machine that uses water for the resistence element.
The rower also came in a giant box that Nora put to good use
We had a backyard fire to find the entire bottom of the firepit rusted out

It is such a treat to have the Ithra Knowledge Center so close. We’ve see a number of speakers and performances there but below are pictures of the first visit we made to the museum. We took in the Van Gough exhibit, toured other local artists work and then swung by the Energy Exhibit.

I forget the name of this piece - it was blue fluid constantly being pumped through these tubes.

Ithra in bright sun. The roof was open so they could bring out the crane for cleaning the sides.
