Some Random Pictures

Here are a few random pictures that I threw together into a post.   They include some from Bahrain, flying kites and a Cub Scout event.  Enjoy!

Mr. Slug

A few weeks back Crystal found a slug in our front yard and he joined us as a pet for a couple of weeks.  The kids enjoyed making observations and we learned a lot more about mucus than we did before.    A couple bonus pictures are here as well including Nora holding up her “How To” book that she wrote titled How to be a Zombie.

2013 Gingerbread Houses

This last weekend we hit Tamimi early and raided their candy aisle for anything that would fit on a gingerbread house.   Crystal had already baked the walls and roofs so it was just a matter of slathering on the frosting and sticking on the candy while the Christmas tunes played in the background.   It is a holiday tradition we love!

2013 Madrigal Dinner

Last weekend was the Dhahran Chorale’s annual Madrigal dinner where Crystal played a singing noble woman.  Nora wore her princess outfit (of course) and Kai wore his polo shirt with collar and jeans with no holes.   He even wanted to wear a tie which just about floored me.   He was pretty excited to slick his hair down with some product and he got to splash on a bit of cologne.   Nora and one of her friends were choose to be flower girls during the wedding ceremony – they walked down the aisle throwing rose pedals before the bride.   When she was asked if she would like to be in the show Nora just about came out of her seat with excitement.

2013 October Random Pictures

I’m finally getting around to clearing pictures off the camera after a long hiatus.  Here are a few I thought I’d share from October.

Halloween 2013

Not quite a month on and I finally got the pictures off of the camera and uploaded to the site.   Enjoy!

Some Random Pictures

Here are a few random pictures from the start of the school year.   They are growing fast with Kai now in 4th grade and Nora in 1st.   Enjoy the photos!

Nora Turns 7

Where does the time go?   Nora turned 7 recently and, as is way with children’s birthdays, there were a range of celebrations.  There was the small ceremony at home on her actual birthday, a recognition at school and then, on a suitably open weekend, the bowling party with friends.   Enjoy the pictures!

Final Days of Summer Vacation

The final set of summer vacation pictures has been processed and I’ve posted a few here.  It was a good vacation and the kids had a great time–they are growing up too fast!

Game Camera

For much of the summer we kept a game camera over the road and back by the swamp.  We came up with lots of pictures of deer and even more of the neighbors dogs.   Quite a few of a couple of scraggly kids and some of some yahoo who kept driving through on a 4-wheeler like he owned the place.
