Arlington and the Sibley County Fair

Now that we’ve been back from vacation for a while the process of sorting though vacation pictures begins.    There is less of a backlog this year than in the past but still – these pictures from the Sibley County Fair in Arlington Minnesota are from August 1.

Kai and Nora both insisted on wearing their Packer Jerseys into Viking country.  It is strange because they also have Viking jerseys.  I guess they just like to stir the pot.

Keeping Grandma Out of Jail

Earlier this summer Grandma Annette received a notice from the Arlington Police Department regarding her rampant shrubbery that was overhanging the curb and causing a general hazard to public order.   The penalty for not controlling one’s shrubbery by August 1?   Up to 90 days in jail!    Here are some images from her children coming to the rescue the evening of July 31.

AGI Reunion

Last weekend was the Arlington-Green Isle reunion with some of Crystal’s childhood friends.   Here are a few pictures from the event.

Home Addition

The home addition is coming along nicely.  For those that are interested here are some pictures of progress made so far (and a few other bonus pics).

Post-Wiemann-Jacobs Visit

Here are a few more pictures from the Post-Wiemann-Jacobs visit last weekend.   We had a full house with Lea Ann, Nina, Sara, Paul, Bev as well as Grandma Annette and Grandma Ellen and Grandpa Art.   The cold weather didn’t keep the kids from having a squirt gun fight outside.

Double Rainbow!

Lea Ann, Nina and Sara Post came to visit.   The weather was on the cool side but was perfect for a campfire and, after a gentle sprinkle of rain, there was a double rainbow behind the house.

Random Summer Pics

Here are a few random vacation pictures from the trip so far…

Duluth Huskies vs. Thunder Bay Border Cats

Last weekend we took in a Duluth Huskies game at historic Wade Stadium in Duluth.  It was a hoot and Kai and Nora’s first introduction to baseball.   Kai caught on to the whole strikes and balls thing but for both the highlight was the concession stands.

Summer Science

It is the summer of science!   Nora spent a good chunk of her allowance this year on science kits.  So far we’ve done kitchen science, clean water science and we’ve been keeping a weather log since we arrived.   Pretty cool stuff!

The Spooner Rodeo Parade – 2013

Last Saturday we saw the Spooner Rodeo Parade with Grandma Ellen and Grandpa Art.  As always it was a hoot and we even saw Uncle Jerry Miller driving a truck in the parade though we weren’t able to get his attention.   There were multiple marching bands, fire trucks, and even a vintage Sherman tank and, as always, plenty of candy thrown from the floats for the kids to scramble for.   Kai and Nora came away with quite a haul.
