Jim Arrives!

Jim flew into Bahrain earlier today and we were able to get over the causeway and welcome him!   I thought this was worth posting a picture on the blog.   We were thinking that the last time he saw Nora was when she was about 9 months old!   As we were driving away though she did remark that she may go live with Uncle Jim because he was so nice.

It’s Science Time!

Last Wednesday was the Kindergarten Science fair at Kai’s school.  I like the way it was set up–a selection of experiment stations that contained explorations the children had completed.  They got to lead their parents through demonstrations of the types of explorations and observations they had been making in science.  There was no competition, no tri-fold boards and no stunning displays of how gifted the parents were at completing science projects for their children!

Rock Hunting

A few weeks ago we had some rain (very late in the season for that) so we headed out to the wadis in the desert at the edge of camp.  The rain runoff had exposed some new rocks and we found some really interesting ones.   It was hot but still bearable.   At this point just a few weeks later we are already climbing well into the 100’s every day so our desert trips are probably done for the season.

Grandma Ellen and her Three Grandkids

Recently Grandma Ellen flew in to Bahrain to visit baby Evelyn.  By chance she was on the first set of flights to go right through European airspace so a lucky break there.

On her birthday we were able to head over and fix a nice meal for everyone and, while she was jet lagged, it was her first day with all three grandkids in the same spot.   Enjoy the pictures.

Baby Evelyn was wonderful.  She slept or cooed the whole time.

I’m sure she is always like that 😉

The Easter Bunny Came

As we explained to Kai and Nora the Easter Bunny sometimes makes his visit slightly before or after Easter just to distribute his work load.  In fact EB seems especially fond of delivering baskets on Friday mornings which makes it very convenient for locations that honor a Thursday/Friday weekend.  It gave us the chance to have a leisurely morning of hunting for baskets and sipping coffee later.   Enjoy the pictures.
