Homework

Kai is wrapping up the first trimester of his Kindergarten year and the weekly homework is now established practice.  Each week he only has to manage a couple of handwriting worksheets, some reading (with us), and a fun math game or two.  He doesn’t have a problem most weeks but recently I had the camera on hand to capture the dramatic story line of a particularly difficult worksheet.

A Day at the Beach

The warm weather seems to have lingered this year and we are only now getting into the days where the weather could be called pleasant.  The good news is that a recent trip by our office team to the beach was one of those days.   When we pulled up to the beach Kai asked “what lake is this?”  Clearly we don’t get out there often enough.

After School Activities

In no time at all it seems that our evenings have become booked with activities for Kai and Nora.   Kai has soccer, art school and Karate while Nora is starting up her first gymnastics class.   Here are a few pictures of how we are spending our evenings these days.

Bubbles and the Beach

During the recent Eid break we had a very nice staycation rather than travel anywhere.   It was actually a real treat and the weather was certainly nice enough (for this time of year anyway).   Blowing bubble and visiting the beach were two of our pass times.

Nora Turns 3!

My how time flies.  Giving Nora her first bath in the hospital after she was born seems like a recent memory and here she is turning three already.

Nora requested a Hello Kitty theme for the party and thankfully we had a cake specialist that could handle a Hello Kitty order and our good friend Ellen Alquist had recently been to Japan and so was able to bring back plenty of Hello Kitty swag from the Hello Kitty homeland.   Pictures follow–enjoy!
