Pool Visit

The weather is officially warming up and that means we are entering pool season.   These two pictures and video were from last week when we took an excursion to the kiddie pool at the Hills.  These were taken on my cell phone and their quality impressed me.

A Life Crowded with Incident

I mentioned in the last post that Kai has a trip to the ER recently.  A combination of running in the house, a loose carpet and a tile floor led to a banged up mouth.  Crystal was traveling in Abqaiq but thankfully the Collins were home and able to watch Nora while Dad and Kai rushed off to the ER.  Thankfully there were no loose teeth and the oral surgeon thinks everything will heal just fine.    Kai is getting to be an old hat at the ER here and he behaved very well once he established that he wouldn’t need to have a nebulizer treatment for his breathing (which is the usual reason for a visit).  As a friend of ours remarked, Kai’s has been “A Life Crowded with Incident” ((From Oscar Wilde’s The Importance of Being Earnest)).  Notice the ER bracelet in the pictures.  He wears them as a badge of honor and still has this one on.

Getting Settled

We are getting settled in the new house as the images below will show.  One major task left is hanging pictures; we only have a few large things up at this point.  Overall it was a pain to move but we do appreciate the time we had to get the new house just right in terms of modifications before we moved.

A Trip to Sharar 651

Work has been progressing on the new house (albeit slowly at times) and we took a family trip over at the end of last week to check it out.  There has been a bit more progress since these were taken (rooms have been painted now) and we are hoping to start the formal move on February 15.

Super Guys at the Park

For Christmas Kai and Nora both got hand made super hero capes courtesy of Crystal’s alert eye on etsy.com.  The are over the moon about them and really dig wearing them but know that they d0n’t really work unless they are fluttering in the wind behind them.  A recent trip to the park was devoted to billowing capes as Kai and Nora used their bikes, the swing, and just running fast to keep the capes moving.  It was a Friday morning (equivalent to Sunday on our weekend schedule) and a little chilly (at only 60 degrees by 10am it qualified for a chilly day here) so they had the normally busy park to ourselves.

A Visit to the New House

We still haven’t moved into the new house despite picking up the keys the day after we returned.  The rennovations department is still working on getting the carpet taken out upstairs and replaced with wood laminate to cut down on the dust for Kai.

On the plus side it is giving us plenty of time to paint and make some modifications before we move which will make things easier.

Our first trip over we took a couple of pictures (below)–I’ll get some better ones of the house to post soon.

Happy New Year!

Crystal has a small point-and-shoot that I just downloaded the pictures off of.  Some turned out quite well so I’m including a batch of them here and that will be it for the Christmas pictures.  Hopefully by the next post I’ll have some pictures of our new house ready to go–we hope to start moving in the next couple of weeks.
