KG Science Fair and Vacation Countdown

The kindergarten science fair was recently held.  Here are some pictures from it along with a commissary run to pick up some food to donate for custodian appreciation week.

Kindergarten Day

At the end of this last week was Kai’s Kindergarten day.  It was a small event just for the parents in his class to come in and spend a half hour to watch some pictures of the school year, thank the volunteer Moms and impress parents with some of the work they’ve done over the school year.   Not only is that a pretty special day but it also coincided with Kai’s turn as student of the day which meant that he got to check the weather and lead the class in songs.  He did a great job!

Kindergarten!!!!

Today was Kai’s first day of Kindergarten and what a day it was.  He is going to sleep well tonight!

In the morning they read The Gingerbread Man and in the afternoon they baked some.  I was expecting Kai to bring one home to eat but instead he could barely contain himself with the story that they put in them in the oven to bake but them someone must have opened the door before they were done because all 17 ran out and were last seen headed towards the library.  Tomorrow they are going to continue the search.

Kai’s Preschool Graduation

We had another uneventful trip back to the USA where we are hanging out in chilly Northern Wisconsin.  Just before we left, Kai’s preschool class “graduated” with a very cute ceremony where the kids sang. We were seated with the setting sun behind the children which accounts for the glare in the pictures.  We also took the video and I’ll see if I can get some posted here at some point.

The next day was kindergarten visit day where the recent graduates got to tour the campus of the Elementary school.  Ben was on hand to lend moral support and take what grainy photos he could with his cell phone camera.
