And it wasn’t Winnie the Pooh

Yesterday we had a big family get together with Aunt Lea Ann and cousin Nina as well as both sets of Grandparents.  As the evening drew to a close and Grandma and Grandpa Jacobs were heading home to feed their dogs they saw a bear just off our our driveway.  The came back and as many as could fit piled into the car for a closer look.  It was a big one (maybe 300 pounds) and was perhaps after our compost pile.   The pictures below were taken by Grandma Ellen who thankfully had a camera handy.  Eventually it came close enough to the house to see it from there and was finally driven off by the neighbors dogs.  We knew that bear were in the area since the steel post of the bird feeder was bent to the ground a few nights ago and squirrels can rarely manage that even when working as a team.
