Kai and Nora were up by 6am and Ellen, Art and Karen didn’t arrive until 7am. That gave them an hour to sort and stack the presents in different ways. Nora was surprised by most gifts but Kai was pretty sure most thinks were Legos or books. As he put it “what else would they be?”
The initial sort
Kai and Nora were up early checking on the status of presents. While they waited for Ellen, Art and Karen to arrive they sorted the presents in various ways - by color, by size, by recipient, etc.
Sibling Rivalry Suspended
In recognition of the holiday season a ceasfire was temporarily called on any inter-sibling bickering. It was nice while it lasted but it didn't last.

This was the "let's make the biggest looking pile we can" sort. The "tallest tower" sorting was halted by Dad due to safety concerns.
