Once again I’m clearing off my phone and camera of the backlog of pictures. These shots span the month of November. Enjoy!

Bahrain Forts
Bahrain has just a few neat old forts. We haven’t visited them is a long, long time as our Bahrain trips most recently have revolved around a movie, a dinner out and perhaps some time on the beach. This time around we visited the Arrad fort on Muharraq island and the Riffa fort in the middle of the island. It is pretty striking how much Bahrain has developed. The

A last trip to Bahrain
Last weekend was our last trip to Bahrain. Not forever, I’m sure, but certainly for this school year as with Ramadan coming a trip to Bahrain just isn’t the same. We picked up some clothes and shoes at the mall, saw the Avengers movie (liked it) and then hung out at the motel and beach. We took the kids our to a rare fancy dinner at the Meat Co. Overall a great weekend.

Bahrain Weekend
Given a 3 day weekend and a long stretch of time since the last one we decided to do something special and head over to Bahrain for a couple of nights. The weather was excellent for pool and beach and we even hit some cultural highlights that Crystal and I had not seen in over a decade including the Bahraini fort (ancient Dilum city with a Portuguese fort built over it) and the Grand Mosque of Bahrain. The Grand Mosque used to have the world’s largest fiberglass dome, but, apparently, Dubai liked so much that they made one that is bigger. Enjoy the pictures.
Bahrain Trip
At the end of May we took a weekend trip over to the Ritz Carlton in Bahrain for a bit of R&R before the end-of-year crunch sets in. We booked a club room but ended up being upgraded to the diplotatic suite which gave us plenty of room. Dinner was a Trader Vic’s nearby which had a fabulous menu. All Kai wanted was a cheeseburger and Nora ordered off menu. Noodles. Just Noodles. Totally plain, nothing on them at all.
Pinewood Derby and Bahrain
The very last Pinewood Derby came and went last month and both Kai and Nora had a good showing.  Kai’s car was competitive but didn’t make the finals. It did, however, win the “Best Carved” award.   Nora’s took first place in the Sibling race and won the “Shark Attack” award.   Also included are picture from a recent mini-vacation where we went to Bahrain for a weekend of water parks and good food before the sprint through the last month of school starts.
Bahrain Trip
Here are a few pictures from a weekend get-away to the Gulf Hotel. We did our usual family get away of movie -> tepanyaki dinner -> lots of pool.  Check the picture captions for the story of Nora showing us how to drink hot chocolate “Swedish” style.
