Life of the very small

Below is a collection of macro shots that explores life right up close in and around our summer retreat. All of the pictures were taken within a 100-foot radius which shows that you don’t have to look far for interesting pictures if you are willing to look differently.

Wisconsin Outdoors

With Wisconsin vacation now over it is time to start clearing the pictures off of the camera. This first gallery has a theme of things we did in the outdoors – enjoy!

Bass Lake 2018

Here is the first of the Bass Lake summer galleries…enjoy!

The Danbury Parade

The little burg of Danbury just up the road had their fourth of July parade early and we attended with neighbors Pam and Lois.   A great, small town parade and they were not stingy with the candy.

Bass Lake in the Winter

Here are a few random photos that did not make the other galleries I posted.

Danbury Vacation Begins

Here is the first summer gallery with pictures from the first few days back in the USA. Included are pictures of an amazing purple sunrise on our second day back. Enjoy!

Another Expedition to Hidden Lake

With only a day left in vacation we set out on a winter expedition to Hidden Lake which lies beyond the swamp behind our house.  In winter it is a fun trek through the swamp and pine scrub but in summer it is completely impassible.

Danbury Christmas 2014

It was a wonder 2014 Christmas.  We had the traditional Christmas Eve fondue dinner followed by a ham dinner on Christmas day.   That we were able to spend it with Grandma Ellen and Grandpa Art was a special treat.

The day before the day before Christmas

Here are some pictures from the day before Christmas eve.  There was a fair bit of snow in Spooner but the rain left none in Danbury.  There was about 1.5 inches of standing water on top of the 7 inches of ice on the lake.   It made for a fun, though slushy, expedition.

Danbury

A few more winter pictures including the finished product on the gingerbread houses.
